What do I need to register my child for school?
1. Proof of Residence (lease agreement, purchase contract, tax bill, utility bill, etc...) Driver's license and checkbooks will not be accepted.
2. Birth Certificate
3. Immunizations (Please refer to the Health Clinic Page for immunization regulations and requirements. Please read the new DTap Immunization Requirement)
What time does school start?
School begins at 8:10a.m. Breakfast is served at 8:00a.m. Please do not drop off students before 8:00a.m. Students arriving after 8:10a.m. will need to report to the office to receive a tardy pass.
Is my child tardy if the bus is late?
NO. Students do not need a tardy pass if they arrive by bus. A bus tardy will be noted.
What time is dismissal?
School ends at 2:40p.m. Car riders will be dismissed before bus riders.
What if I want to pick my child up from school and he/she normally rides a bus?
PLEASE call the office and/or send a note before 2:20p.m. to ensure that your child does not get on the bus.
Can my child ride a different bus home with a friend?
PLEASE send a note for any change in transportation. We cannot allow students to ride a different bus unless a note is sent to their teacher.
What is the bus schedule?

How can I update my child's emergency card?
It is very important that we have updated information on file for every student. Please send any changes to your child's teacher in writing as soon as possible. We will make the necessary change to the emergency card immediately.
What is ParksideMiddle School's Absent Policy?
If your child is absent please send a note with the child or email to Amber Johnson, Attendance Secretary.
1. Unverified - No notification in writing, either by email or letter, or phone call notifying the school of a student's absence.
2. Unexcused - The school has received a phone call of a student's absence but has not received written, either by email or letter, notification.
3. Excused - The school has received a written letter or email about a student's absence.
I forgot my Edulink password? How do I obtain an Edulink Password?
If you forgot your Edulink password or have never been registered in Edulink, parent(s) or guardian(s) must come into the office and present their ID to obtain their password.
Can someone else pick up my child from school?
We will not release your child to anyone not listed on the emergency card. A picture I.D. must be presented when picking up your child. Please be sure the information on the card is current and updated with the office if there are any changes.
Can my child take/bring medication to school?
Students are not allowed to bring medicine(s) to and from school. Parents MUST complete the Prescription Medication Authorization form and bring the medication to school. Please refer to the Health Clinic Page for any necessary regulations, forms, and answers to questions you may have. If students have Asthma or an Allergy Action Plan on file they may carry their inhaler or EPI Pen, only if stated by their primary care physician.
What time does my child need to be at school if there is a Two-Hour Delay?
When there is inclement weather and PWC Public Schools are on a two-hour delayed schedule, please do not bring your child to school early. If school starts at 8:10AM on a normal schedule, then on a two-hour delay schedule school will starts at 10:10AM. Another example, if your child has to be at the bus stop at 7:20AM normally, then on a two-hour delay schedule your child should be at the bus stop at 9:20AM. Please refer to the Closing Procedures Announcement for more information.
Is ParksideMiddle School a ManassasCity or ManassasParkSchool?
No. Although Parkside is located between ManassasCity and ManassasPark boundaries, ParksideMiddle School is a PrinceWilliamCountySchool.
How can I find out if ParksideMiddle School is closed due to inclement weather?
Please refer to the Closing Procedures Announcement for more information. Listen for closing announcements on television, PWCPS-TV (Comcast channel 18), radio, or call 703.791.2776, and select #3. Sign up for PWCPS E-NEWS - Receive email or a text message about the closings.
How much does lunch and breakfast cost?
Full Price Student lunch - $2.25 Reduced - $.40.
Full Price Student breakfast - $1.20 Reduced - $.30
How do I add money to my child's lunch/breakfast account?
Each student has a debit card account that will follow your child to any PrinceWilliamCountySchool until graduation. You may send in cash or a check made payable to PWCSFS (Prince William County Schools Food Services). Please put your child's first and last name in the memo section of the check so that the proper account is credited.
Can I have lunch with my child?
YES. Please visit the office upon arrival, sign in and leave a picture I.D. This is a county procedure and it will be adhered to. The safety of every student is our priority. Don't forget to sign out and take your I.D. with you.
Can I volunteer in my child's classroom?
Without volunteers, some things would not be possible. We appreciate any time that you can give and welcome you to our school. Please remember to sign the Volunteer Log in the office. As always, thank you for your time and dedication.
