Dear Parkside Parents:

We are pleased to welcome you to a new school year! We are looking forward to having your child at Parkside Middle School this year. We have a bright and exciting school year ahead of us. We want you to know that we care very much about your child's education and will strive each and every day to give them a safe, caring and enriched learning environment. We are completely committed to your child's well being. We are eager to see all the positive ways that you and your child will contribute to Parkside Middle School during the 2009-2010 school year!

Parents are the driving force in their children's lives and we would like to thank you in advance for showing your concern by asking your child about the school day and by making sure assigned homework is completed and returned to school. Please watch for monthly instructional calendars and other classroom communications in your child's backpack each day. Please also refer to our school web site, which can be found at www.pwcs.edu and monthly newsletters for information about our ongoing instructional program.

Volunteering is encouraged in our school, as it facilitates your child's education and self-esteem. We would love to have you volunteer even if you can only spare a few hours this year. There are many things parents can do, such as supervision during after-school activities, listen to readers, supervise centers, mentor a student, tutor in a specific content area, copy, file, field trip supervision, and/or sharing your knowledge and expertise. Even if you have limited time, please consider volunteering.
